x10 nightwatch camera full of water?
« on: June 06, 2007, 10:26:54 PM »

Hi guys,  I'm still trying to get my x10 camera system up and working. Everything seems to be working okay except i'm still working on trying to get a consistant daytime signal on cam 2 & 3.  We've had quite a lot of rain here the last couple of days and cam 2 looks cloudy or like it might have water in it.  I thought these cams were weather proof?  Anyone else have this trouble?  I took a q-tip out and gently pressed it into the lens area but it was dry.  Any assistance, comments welcome...

Most of the X10 cameras have a protective, clear, cap over the lens. I have had watter get behind this cap on one of my cameras  during extremely wet weather. You can, carefully, pry the cap off and try drying the lens behind it. The lens is plastic so you want to be carefull not to scratch it.

That is probably the problem....I took those clear plastic caps off..  I'll let it dry out through the day and replace the plastic caps before the rain hits again tonight.  Thank you for your comments.
