Sun on PR511 Motion Sensor

When I position my motion sensor horizontal as the instruction say I should do the sun shines on it in the late afternoon. If I aim it downward it doesn't work well. Has anyone had this problem and will it damage my sensor.

Had the same issue when mounting mine.  Finally just positioned it so it worked best for motion detection and let 'er ride.  Still working fine after a couple years!   8)
