When I start panning the ninja with the hand held remote,  I'm unable to see anything except static on my monitor. When I stop panning the pic clears up. Anyone have the same prob.? Any suggestions?

If you are using a x10 camera the reason is..

The remote uses 2.4 Hz and the cameras uses 2.4 Hz.

I don't know why they made that that way but they did. Now I use wired cameras on mine.


Also you don't have yours mounted upside down outside, not in a dome enclosure?

NO the pan and tilt remote uses the standard X10 310MHz to control the unit. The camera sends in the 2.4 Ghz range.
Noise could be from things like wireless networks or 2.4 Ghz phones though most would be there all the time. As you pan and tilt the camera. You are moving the sending antenna with it. It maybe a weak signal that is fading as it moves.

I had the same problem with one of my ninja/camera setups.  Anytime the ninja was moving, there was only a staticy picture.  I switched the power supply with another camera not attached to a ninja and the problem cleared up.  I am guessing the power supply was somehow causing a lot of noise that was interfering with the picture.

The motors making noise with the single supply for both camera and mount could be a reason for the noise on the signal. Good find.

Could it be that the motor is takeing all the power from the camera. Or could the motor be sending out a magnet prpblem?
