AHP Macro Help...
« on: March 10, 2008, 12:00:46 AM »

I am new to the X10 world... And have read a few post on the problem that I am trying to fix, but still don't understand..

I have an Eagle Eye Motion sensor with Chime module for activity in the drive way.. and it works great! EXCEPT...

the chime rings and rings and rings over and over again till the person has moved out of the field of view..

What I would like to do, is have a macro allow the chime to ring ONCE then go into standby for a period of say 2 or 3 Min's...

Can this be done?? Like I have said I have read other post on this similar problem but don't quite understand how to do this..

Any Help??

Haaha aaaah aaaa

Call me stupid! but I can not get this macro to work at all...

I want the Driveway Motion chime to ring only one time with motion, instead of chime with every movment the sesor detects.

I have tried the following Macro..

What is my issue?

Eagle Eye is on H16
Rx/Tx is set for H
and the Chime is set for H16

EX: For using just the Motion Detector's ON signal and a fixed delay, create the following Macro:

     Macro Name:
      DriveWay Motion

     Trigger:
      H16 ON

     Conditions:
Flag [16] Off  <--- Puck you show this as clear..I dont have that option off/on??

     Action(s):
      Set Flags [16]
      Chime ON
Delay 60 seconds  (this value can be any delay required)
      Clear Flags [16]

jwood: You have to set the chime to a different address than the motion sensor.

Flag [16] Off  <--- Puck you show this as clear..I dont have that option off/on??

Do you have the Smart Macros plug-in?

Use a different House and Unit code for your chime and create the following macros:

H16 sensor - off delay set to 1 minute, Chime on I16

Macro H16 On - Condition Flag 6 Off
   Set Flag 6 On
   Chime I16
End Macro

Macro H16 Off
   Clear Falg 6 Off

With those macros, as long as the sensor detects motion it will ring once the chime. If no motion is detected after 1 minute, it resets back.

Since AHP packages have included the Smart Macros plug-in for sometime now, I'm betting that he's not familiar with how to create a flag condition.

If that is the case jwood, then this is what you need to do. (If not, my apologies.)

If the "Drop Conditions Here" dotted box isn't present, click on the "Use Conditions" near the the bottom middle of the page. Then from the column on the right where the rooms are, scroll down till you see "Conditions". Select it, scroll down and drag the "flag Status" box into the "Drop Conditions Here" box. Then click on it's edit icon to pick the flags for which you want to test.

Also I'd recommend not using flags 15 or 16 as AHP has been know to use those for other stuff. (Flag that you use does not  have to be the same number as your chime or sensor.)

Just as a heads up for a future possible problem, do have any macros or modules on H1? When your motion sensor is set for H16, it also uses the "next" number, in the case 1 since numbers wrap, as a light sensor.

Thanks for the info from all..Little by little Iam understanding this all..

The Macro Below works GREAT...

Thanks Again..
