AHP/CM15A and timers
« on: March 18, 2008, 10:10:29 AM »

I just upgraded to AHP and the CM15A from AH and the CM11A (that worked) now my timers are not working. Well, on the PC interface they are going on and off like they should but the lights are not.

So here are my questions.

I keep my CM15A connected to my PC and AHP running all the time, so........

1: Do I need to have the batteries installed?

2: Do I need to download the timers/macros to the CM15A? <----- this is the one that I think is giving me the trouble because if I am running the AHP software, and I have the timers downloaded into the module, it seems, to me at least, that they would both be trying to send the same signal at the same time, thus canceling each other out. Is my thinking correct on this?

Thanks.

Glad to see you moved up! ;)

No! The batteries are only needed to move your Cm15A from one outlet to another or for power failures to keep the clock in sync

Yes!

The Software knows which macros are to be run from the interface or not! If you have told all macros to be run from the interface then these aren't downloaded to the interface!
Timers are downloaded!
Since you have moved up from the CM11A there are some things that may be causing problems such as another transceiver(these normally aren't needed!
If you did the active home file converter go threw and make sure all modules are specified correctly! It only takes one like a TM751 transceiver to be misconfigured to through a wrench into the works! ;)  :(

I didn't do any file converter at all, didnt even know there was one. LOL, I did it all manually again for the timers. I have no macros at all, just timers.

Do you have any other trancievers pluged in (TM751s)?
If so unplug them.
If you'd like to send me your AHX file I'll have a look at it!

Ok if the file you sent me was what your using the timers should work!
If you sent me a stripped down version there maybe something else there messing things up!

Can you control any of the 5 lights or fan without timers from AHP?
Was the CM11A pluged into the same outlet that the CM15A is now?

Yup, that is the WHOLE thing. Nothing stripped down. Yes I am able to control everything from AHP (except for Channel 6, but I think that is interference from the refrigerator), and yes the CM11A is plugged into the same outlet.

OK if you don't have any other x10 devices pluged in that aren't set up in AHP check your activity monitor it might shed some light as to what is going on!
also you can go into your timers and click on the advanced tab (right hand side) it will open up some additional options for your timers. One is to run them only from the PC.
Since all are now set to run from the interface it might be worth a test run! ;) problem with this is if the PC shuts down they won't work (but then they aren't now anyways)
The other thing to look at is: What is running when these timers are set to trigger that isn't running when you can control them? ;)

Great!! That's what I wanted to know!!! I wanted to know if I could run them right from the PC, since I have it running all the time anyway. (This is also my surveillance system PC) I will give this a shot and see what happens, I am also playing around with setting it up as macros to see if maybe that will work.

...yes the CM11A is plugged into the same outlet.
Just to clarify, did you mean to say "was"?
You definitely don't want both the CM11A and the CM15A plugged in at the same time.  :)

Nice to hear everything is working for you now, though I don't see why they won't work from the interface! ::) ???
