I installed a eagleeye motion detector this mourning. I having this problem It will detect the motion then after it turns off  it will turn on again permanently. What would be causing this.

caddyroger: Welcome to the forum. To receive good help (as opposed to guesses) for your problem, you need to provide a lot more information about your set up. E.G. Tranceiver being used, X10 house/unit codes used, what is being turned on & off, etc.

I have the eagle eye detector set at house code e and unit code 5. The transceiver is a TM 571. I'm using this to control a in side entrance way light using a appliance xps3 switch.

It "sees" heat more than just motion.  Direct sun light, or just sun heat being re-radiated by a sidewalk  (ie, "heat waves"), will trigger it.

You should have replied to Walt2's post instead of editting a previous post with a response to his help. This could easily have been over-looked.

Thanks for providing more info, but to fill in the gaps, is the following correct:

EagleEye set to E5
TM751 Set to HouseCode E
XPS3 set to E5

1) Motion detected, Light E5 comes ON
2) After xx minutes of no motion, Light E5 goes OFF
3) With no motion required, Light E5 immediately comes back ON and stays on permanently

If this is the correct sequence of events, then is it consistently repeatable?

Then since this is consistently repeatable, then I would rule out random issues like signal noise & heat source triggering the motion sensor.

Based on what's happening I'd have to say there is something wrong with your XPS3 that causes it to immediately come back on as soon as it receives an OFF signal.

Do you have another X10 device that you can set to Address E5 to see if it reacts the same?

 I solved my problem. I had a 3 volt battery eliminator connected to it. Unplugged it and put battery's in it. It's working OK now
sorry for the trouble
