Color cameras went to Black & White?
« on: April 28, 2008, 12:10:57 PM »

Been playing with my laptop and trying to get the cameras functionality working - now both color cameras produce B&W images?

Anything simple that my simple mind just screwed up - they WERE working in color...

Oh., yeah - AHP and all 4 plugins, VA11a, XP...

As a test see if windows movie maker(included in XP) displays the image in color!
That will tell you if it is a problem with AHP or the hardware! ;)

It's sending snapshots to my BlackBerry in B&W too - I've been flipping the VA11A and the CM15A connections between the built-in port and my newly acquired PCMCIA dual-USA-port card.

Interesting thing:  When I connect the VA11A to the new card's port and then added a USB wireless mouse, a dialog popped up that there wasn't enough USB bandwidth left for the mouse.  It indicated the VA11A was using 80% of the available bandwidth.

I think I need to figure out whether the VA11A or the CM15A should be plugged into the native port and which one should be in the PCMCIA card's port.  With the VA11a attached, I'm definitely missing some RF signals at the AHP/PC.  I need to run some tests as to whether the CM15A is receiving them, but with some macros needing to run from PC, it won't matter - I may have to forgo the VA11A.

Question - does Vanguard use the VA11A or is there another method to get the video into the PC for Vanguard?

it uses the VA11A!
Xray Vision will use any capture device but will not capture video!

Well, reinstalling the hardware drivers worked - we're back to color.

But something is causing a real lag between RF command and module action.  Minutes, not seconds.  I'll have to do some more troubleshooting...
