I know this sounds funny,  But how can I keep multiple x10 camera's on as I am running camera's thru a DVR and need ALL the camera's on at the same time. One is wired direct and one is wireless, the wireless one keeps shutting off..    Can anybody give any suggestions?

To get the cameras to turn OFF they need to be in the same "group of four" meaning same house code and unit number 1-4 or 5-8, 9-12, 13-16. To prevent the camera from turning OFF... take it OUT of the group of 4.

I myself... have never made a complicated error using X10..... They've all been simple little things I forgot.

To keep this subject alive . . .

At the moment I have only the one wireless camera (Xcam2 PIR) that records through a Commander.
Every time I turn on my PC and open up AHP, I have to "Go Live" on the camera address module icon to turn the XCam2's addressable power supply on.
So what is turning it off?  I have not set any timers on this address, and have it set to C1 so it won't clash with anything else.

Is there an easy timer or macro that I could set that would leave this camera on permanently?

Do you have any modules, macros or timers that send an ON signal to C2, C3 or C4? As soon as your camera on C1 sees an ON sent to any of these addresses it will turn itself off.

If you don't have any modules on these addresses, then look at the "Find Other Computers" and see what color those addresses appear as. A stray signal on one will cause your problem.

No none of these at all. C1 is the only address I am using in HC-C

C1 is the only colour appearing under C on the chart. It is green.
I might try setting a timer to ON every hour or so and see how that goes. It makes for a messy timers list, but might help my problem.

Very strange... I have never experienced any of mine turning off on their own; could be a fault with the power supply itself. Since you are just using the one camera and want it on 24/7, you can always use a standard wall-wart with the correct voltage & sufficient current rating to make sure it does not turn off.

Any motion sensors on C1? When it gets dark and light  the dusk dawn sensor sends on and off signals on C2 if motion is on C1.

Hi Brian,

The Xcam2 has an integrated PIR motion sensor. There is no adjustment for Dusk/Dawn in this sensor.
But this doesn't have it's own address (separate from the camera). All it does is send a signal to the Commander.
In the Activity Log, the only address showing is C1.

I think this will be a random occurance. This morning, the vision was coming through to my TV, even though in AHP the Camera icon is back to "Go Live".
It is going to be a pain if I don't get vision when I really need it. So I'll keep my eye on it for a while.

The Xcam2 has an integrated PIR motion sensor

Could this motion sensor be sending an off comand after it times out. Have you checked the activity monitor? If I am not mistaken most of the X10 motion sensors send an off after some preset time.

Your camera is a Flood CAM?

If memory serves me correct, their motion sensor does not send out a dusk dawn signal.

I have an Xcam2 PIR (Code: XC14E) - it is a kit with the Commander and video receiver.
The wire you can see off the camera goes to an addressable power supply. I have this set to C1.
As I gather, the addressable power supply controls the camera lens only, the PIR is always on.
This would allow switching between multiple cameras.
Having the PIR continually on, enables the Commander to sound the beep-beep tone when in Home mode.

I just tried a couple of things, and it appears I have the PIR address still set to default A1. (I thought I switched it over to HC-C).
I will change this to C1 also, and see if that makes any difference.
Although, when I turned the TV on today, the camera vision was on. Go figure?

Better let everyone know that You are from across the pond in Europe. These wonderfull folks are North America. So here comes the redirection of thought.

I believe one of the differences between the US and European units is the allowed frequency for the remotes. US is 310 MHz and Europe is I believe 418 MHz.
The cameras work in groups of 4. House code and Unit 1-4;5-8;9-12 and 13-16. Turn one on the other three go off. The power supplies also default to On when powered up.
The transmitter part of the camera is turned on and off. The rest is always on so the picture from the camera turning on is almost instantly seen. As the image detector doesn't have to ramp up to detection.
