Is it possible to send an email to control swithes? I have a phone that supports email and would really be intrested in remote control via my phone.

AHP can send you email alerts.

You cannot control AHP by sending an email.

You can control AHP remotely if you have the My House Online plug in.
Not sure about small phone type devices, but you can from a remote computer.

With X10Dispatcher you can control devices via MSN Messenger. I do believe most phones today can access MSN Messenger.

There are actually several third party software programs that allow one to control a CM15A or CM19A via a cell phone either E-mail, MSN or direct call in!
X10Dispatcher or AlertDialer are the ones I use!
