Well it's a well known fact/marketing technique that "sex sells". Also since I believe the majority of their customers are male, they believe the scantly clad women are the best way to get our attention.
...The bimbo pix probably get a few of us men to hesitate before scrolling on. But the Bimbo pix do not sell any product. The product itself, convenience, security, and "techiness" sells the product. If Bimbo pix actually sold product then Smarthome.com would have silicone sisters plastered all over their web site. I think X10 marketing has some maturity issues.
Perhaps I should of bolded the words '
they believe' in the above as that was my real point. While I have at times checked out an "ad", none of my home automation purchases have ever or will ever be influenced by scantly clad pictures. I tend be more in agreement with your opinion as to the maturity level of the marketing staff.
All that said, I would still be interested in hearing a woman's perspective on the issue, if any are here to respond. Even more important is if anyone is offended by X10's advertising, male or female, they should contact X10's marketing department and file a complaint. Also while X10 does have some interesting 'multiple number' for 1 deals for items, there are other places to shop.
