I have a  Kitchen Florescent Light that is controlled by a Domestech 9601, a wired-in X10 module that is no longer made. It was bought 18 years ago and has worked fine until sometime yesterday, when it failed.  I've tried several different housecodes, using ahcmd.exe to send on and off signals to it, neither AHP or the Stick-a-Switch in the kitcthen will control it, but all other kitchen modules work as usual.

What can I get to replace it, the Domestech 9601 is no longer made. The replacement must be a wired-in module to control the light.

Some options (if they're not too big to fit) are the X10Pro XPFM, Leviton 6375,  or Smarthome 2475S (INSTEON In-LineLinc Relay)

I did some checking and the X10Pro XPFM is exactly what I need, it's exactly like the Domestech 9601.

Dan, does the "Domestech" use a solenoid driven latching relay like the X10 Appliance Module?

If so I have had OLD appliance Modules quit working and diagnosed it to non operating cam in the solenoid relay. The grease X10 lubes the little cam with was so old, it dried and turned hard, finally freezing the solenoid. I get them working again with silicon spray lubricant.

Today I happened to be in AHP, went to the Kitchen page, clicked on Florescent Light and heard the click as the Domestech 9601 turned on, so I went into the Kitchen, and turned off the light by the Stick-a-Switch, and heard another click.

Either the "failure" was due to some oddball noise factor (the two other lights on the Stick-a-Switch worked as always) or the Domestech 9601 just got tired (or Murphy was at work here, so I need to check the Anti-Murphy shield) or the 9601 got scared it was going in the scrap pile after 18 years and started working.

So, I reestablished the timer it uses.  I'll put the XPFM in the X10 Spare Box as insurance when it comes.

Tonight the Domestech 9601 died. It had a good 18 year run. I got the XPFM out of the spare box, set it to F2, removed the Domestech 9601 and wired the XPFM the same way. Went into AHP, turned the F2 on and the fluorescent tubes lit.  Used the SS13 to turn it off, it clicked and the light went dark.  Turned it on by the SS13, went back to AHP and turned F2 off.

The Domestech 9601 and the trash can met each other, it will have a short good home at the Baltimore City incinerator.
