What does Dialup Services in the macro designer do?
« on: January 31, 2009, 02:12:27 PM »

While I've had no luck getting my ds7000 to dial out, I've been trying to find a work around.  That's when I noticed in the macro designer under advanced options a Dialup Service module.  Does anyone know what this does?  Is it an older one to start your actual dialup internet connection or will it dial an external number?  thanks

Well if you go to Tools, Preferences, scroll sideways to Dial Up it has a little explanation. Bottom line is that that this can be set up if you are using a dial up internet connection to allow you to ring your phone according to he settings you choose from a remote location and starts the series of events which causes your computer to dial up your internet provider so you can connect to your my house software over the internet to remotely control events while you are away from home.

Hope this helps.

Bob, thanks for the explanation, that's what I figured, just couldn't find confirmation.

Thanks
