Recessed door contacts.
« on: February 23, 2009, 05:45:57 PM »

Can I wire a recessed door contact to the x-10 door/window contact?  I have a door where I cannot mount the surface contacts do to the door hitting the other contact when it opens.

If the recessed door contact is a normally closed switch (contacts closed when the door is closed) it ought to work fine.

Yesterday it worked.
Today it doesn't work.
X10 on Windows is like that.

You might want to consider mounting your DS10A to the top of the door then either way the door swings it can't hit the other contact.
