Could you take a VR36A and do a similar mod like the one done to the MR26 (http://www.shed.com/tutor/mr26ant.html) Take the paddle off the VR36A and install a "F" connector and then use a multi directional antenna?     This is just a thought and wondered if it would work?

Well, yes and no.  I don't personally own a VR36A, so I'm going out on a limb here.
I'm guessing that the paddle on the VR36 contains a "Fractal antenna".  It a cheap way to build an antenna for multiple bands (and a good one).
The antenna in the mod on the shed tutorial appears to be "tuned" to the 300 MHZ band.  If memory serves me correctly,  the x10 cams broadcast on the 2.4 GHZ range.
What does all this mean?
IT means that the elements of an add-on antenna would more than likely have to be much shorter than the ones listed on the mod. 
That being said, sometimes adding any kind of larger antenna will help.   Sometimes not.
You might just end up feeding more unwanted signals into the receiver than what you want, and the whole thing will be counter-productive.

  I wasn't going to use the Cross Band of the mod, just the part where they put the "F" connector in and then use a 2.4ghz antenna or maybe even try a set of "Rabbit Ears" and see what happens.....

It's a real pain in the butt        trying to get get that one little paddle to pick up several different cameras located in all directions !!!! My other option is to get a X10 wireless video sender and hook it up....

If you do a little searching... you will find some mods.. and some information. How many cameras do you have... in how many directions?

Have a total of 8 (not all are hooked up yet) have 5 up. And they are in all directions of the receiver which is located a close to center of the house as I can get it. Cameras are on all 4 sides of it (front,back,left and right) and have cameras below in basement. And can't get all of them to come in at the same time without moving the receiver around looking for each signal.

If I done the mod like linked above (MR26 and the CM15A) would that help with ? ?

What I'm looking for is pics of a modified VR36A with the "F" connector attached (if there is any) I know when I done my CM19A mod and CM15A mod it showed pics on where to attach a ground. Want to know where to attach a ground on the VR36A.
