CR12A remote with XM13A problems
« on: March 12, 2009, 12:47:59 PM »

I can't get the CR12A remote to turn on/off the XM13A power supplies on my four cameras to switch the video.  Power supplies are set to A1, A2, A3, and A4. Remote is set to A and I have the slide switch in 1-8 mode.  Having only A1 plugged in, in the same room as the remote and monitor, the remote will not actuate the power supply.  Batteries in the remote are fresh.  Any ideas?

Thanks for the welcome and quick response.  TM751, and yes i didn't have it plugged in.  duh.  I got the system back in 02 and had it running one camera through a small tv, and i thought I'd try to get it working with 4 cameras like it was supposed to.  Had it switching, the reception on the cameras were fuzzy, so i played with the receiver vr31a plugged the video out into a usb to rca adapter and then the power supply for the receiver took a crap.  So now I'm looking through the website to see if they now make a usb direct audio video receiver and a usb firecracker as my notebook pc doesn't have a serial port.

Thanks again for the quick response.

X10 does indeed make both
Cm19a is the usb fire cracker But you may wish to look at the Cm15A and the Activehomepro All Plug-in package deal it will allow for future expansion!
The USB 2 Video capture device is the VA12A (no sound)
You could try E-bay for a usb audio video capture device! I know they have them but if they'll work with your software is another question!
