New X10 installation - AHPro
« on: April 21, 2009, 03:57:31 PM »

Hi,

I've just buy a "Starting Kit" from Intellihome.be and I can't make it works.
Kit contents :
- CM15Pro
- LM12
- AM12
- EasyTouch35

Computer installation :
Install ActiveHome Pro 3.xxx (can't remember) on WinXP, plug the USB interface of CM15Pro. Everything fine but AHP doesn't control the modules. When I click turn ON or turn OFF, AHP accept, the button switch, the green light switch on (mean module response ?) but the light doesn't change...

I install AHP 3.238 but nothing changes.
I try all devices on same socket strip (controller and receiver) or dispatch in the apartment.

I'm in France so power is 230V 50Hz ; Marmitek devices should works : backside the technical informations are correctly 230V 50Hz.

Something wrong ? What can I try ? ???

Thank all ;)

Where are you getting AHP and the CM15A from?  I presume you know anything X10 from X10.com is for US/Canada only.

He didn't mention CM15A just CM15.... AHP 2.238 is marmitek version... and he said he got it from Intellihome.be

You have the cm15 plugged into your computer right? When you start AHP does it give you any warning or error?

Does it control any modules?.. make sure the CM15 is not plugged into the same outlet as the computer. The computer can sometime cause noise problems and not let the x10 signal through.

If you plug the cm15 in to a outlet have one of the LM12 in the same outlet and see if it will control it?

Hi,

You are right, my CM15 is CM11-Pro : http://www.intellihome.be/english/productview.asp?id=541

When I start AHP with CM15 USB-plugged, I have no error (if unplugged, yes).
I think CM15 sends X10 signals :
AHP Activity Monitor example :
2    21/04/2009 20:16:04    Receive RF    A Unknown
3    21/04/2009 20:16:15    Transmit    A1
4    21/04/2009 20:16:19    Transmit    A On
5    21/04/2009 20:16:23    Transmit    A1
6    21/04/2009 20:16:27    Transmit    A Off
7    21/04/2009 20:16:31    Transmit    A1
8    21/04/2009 20:16:35    Transmit    A On
9    21/04/2009 20:16:39    Transmit    A Dim 25
10    21/04/2009 20:16:43    Transmit    A Bright 25
11    21/04/2009 20:16:47    Transmit    A2
12    21/04/2009 20:16:51    Transmit    A On
[...]
55    21/04/2009 20:26:15    Receive RF    A Unknown
56    21/04/2009 20:26:15    Receive RF    A Unknown

57    21/04/2009 20:26:26    Transmit    B2 (New AM12)
58    21/04/2009 20:26:30    Transmit    B On (New AM12)
59    21/04/2009 20:26:34    Transmit    B2 (New AM12)
60    21/04/2009 20:26:38    Transmit    B Off (New AM12)
61    21/04/2009 20:27:13    Receive RF    A Unknown

Of course, the module were LM12 : A1 and AM12 : B2 while testing...
Italic messages correspond to plug/unplug the CM15 USB.

The computer is a laptop so I already try with laptop on battery (not outlet plug).

Thanks.

It should not matter but did you download the timers and marcos into the interface? Its under the tool menu.

The cm15 is it plugged into a power strip or anything. Or just into the wall outlet? it sounds like you have a signal sucker or noise problem not letting the x10 signal onto the powerline.  Some power strips , Chargers, LCD TVs, computer monitor can cause problems.  Fluoresce light bulbs/fixtures. It seems like you have something big sense it is not letting any x10 signal work!!

The laptop power cord unplugged from the outlet even though you have the laptop on battery?  Where are the the modules located when you are testing? X10

Hi,

Now it works !

What I've done ? Nothing special :
- I unplugged laptop
- Plugged CM11Pro on a outlet (already tested outlet)
- Sent A2 ON with my EasyTouch35 RF transmitter ; WORKS !  8)

Until then, my remote sends successfully messages and my laptop too (with same outlet & USB) !
So CM11-Pro works for RF translation and with AHP.

Thanks all for your help ;)

Now my new problem :
I've plug a lamp on my LM12F but even with brightness to 100%, the light is not stable (sparkling). I've try two lamps ; same results.

Be sure to read the instruction, min.to max. W = 60-300. If you are using a 40 W lamp it
will flicker, cause the triac will not conduct properly. If you like to use a load less than 60, you
have to use an appliance module.

Capacité : 60 ŕ 300 W (lampes ŕ incandescence seulement)

Besides the minimun lamp wattage. Are they a standard type light bulb?  Not a Compact Fluorescent Bulb?

I read that low energy bulb doesn't work.
These bulb are less than 40W... so I have to buy lot of appliance module :-\ .
