I'm assuming thats why my software doesn't make my cm15a work right?

I've emailed the ebay seller, and asked the support here about it, pretty much I just get no answer. The ebay auction said ACTIVEHOME PRO UNIT AND SOFTWARE like 10 different times, I checked all of the emails I recceived about the x10 items I bought from the seller, none of them said anything about a registration code, and I don't see any discs or paperwork in the box. I did some searching, found the downloads page, installed 3.2.3.6 and used the activehome professional updater but it wont send any signals to any of my devices.

what should I do now?

I have to say this is all lame

I would contact the ebay vendor that you've been dealing with.

I really fail to understand why people purchase X10 products from ebay. I have yet to see better prices from the ebay resellers... or the prices will be marginally lower with huge shipping fees. Although... X10 does have a crappy Web Site and worse emails.. the newsletter deals are MUCH cheaper.

There are no AHP disks or CD's and all purchasers have to use the download stub program to get the software.
If the vendor is a valid X10 dealer they should have provided you with a registration code or the proper way to get it.

I've contacted the vendor, but power sellers (the only people I will buy from) that get 100 orders a day or something cant answer emails fast, and I understand that, I mean not everyone has the luxury of sitting around on their pc playing with rf gadgets lol

as for buying it from there, I didn't even know about this site until i had purchased the first products (slimline wall switch, light module, rf transmitter and palm remote) and those all worked flawlessly, so I ordered some more stuff, it came today, nothing but problems - honestly man if an ebay ad said MODULE and SOFTWARE woulnt you think that it meant a disc would be in the box, and why on earth is the software for this locked anyways - I mean its not a BIG deal, worst case scenario is he refuses to refund or fix the prob, or I file a paypal claim and get my money back period, thing is I was hoping there was a workaround for this issue I hadnt seen yet, guess not :P

from now on I'm going to do massive research on everything x10 before I buy it

It's not X10 you need to research, but more like the vendors on E Bay

Sorry I have no idea of how to see if the vendor is an X10 dealer.

I also believe that X10 Vendors are responsible for any X10 warranty problems.
I have purchased a few X10 items from eBay and was told that the vendor is totally responsible for any problems not X10.

have you tried this software?  http://www.marmitek.com/nl/software/setup_ahp_marmitek.zip  Just a suggestion.  It has ahp with smart macros.  You won't get the Iwitness or Onalert plugin but hey it's free and should work with your cm15.   ;)

thanks for all the replies, the ebay seller finally sent me the registration code after a bunch of complaining, however I do have another issue, I installed a WS467 in the wall a few days back and I cannot get it to work with my activehome pro, and I have read the tutorial on using the LM14 in the software as a substitution but the WS467 wont respond to the slimline or palmpad remotes either, I have ordered a XPS3-IW to see if maybe that would change but I think isnt it more likely the phase coupling issue? I mean the softstart modeule turns my lights on just wont respond to signals

I have read the section on phase coupling in x10wiki but the way i understand it I have to solder something to my breaker box to couple the two phases? I don't really see anything written on what the easiest way to go about this or to test to see if thats even the problem

any help would be appreciated tia

No, no soldering required.
Wires from the coupler, or repeater is connected to two dedicated single breakers or one dedicated double breaker (220V ) and the neutral buss. Everything will have screws.  The repeater or coupler will come with directions.

If you are using the AHP CM15A as your remotes receiver.
Make sure the House Code you are using is set to Tranceived in the Hardware Tab or the remotes command may never be sent back on the power lines.

so which coupler or repeater do you guys recommend? and what is the difference?

theres so much different x10 equipment that its kind of over whelming, I spend the time I can reading it all trying to understand but I'm afraid some of it runs me in circles, I wish some site like newegg carried this stuff so I could read actual customer reviews, or that they would overhaul this site to use something like that, the forum and x10wiki are great don't get me wrong, lots of very interesting stuff, but trying to find what you want specifically is hard at times

thanks again

Our home operates under the standard of "overwhelming the noise" with a very high output repeater. I have an ACT234 which is a very good unit. I wish I had a XTB IIR from Jeff Volp. It really cranks out the signal. You can't go wrong with it.
