secbo sm01 gsm auto dialer
« on: June 06, 2009, 12:08:30 PM »

Hello forum members, I am new here and have a question.  I was just broken into may 27 and we have been looking at security systems since.  We can not afford any of the big name brand systems or there high monitoring charges plus pay for a land line too.  After looking for almost a couple weeks now we would like to go with an x10 system but we want to go the gsm auto dialer route because we do not have a land line.  So my question is, I came across this gsm dialer that sounds like it just hooks up to the average systems auto dialer and dials from the gsm unit instead the systems auto dialer.  Here is a link http://www.secbo.com/detail.asp?catid=42048&subcatid=41693&pdtid=268703&private=
Could you tell me if this would work with any of x10's products ?
Thank You for your time and I hope we can become a regular to the forums.

Here is a better site with one but has more information, and also has more frequency range.

This looks very interesting............I'm also curious if any one has successfully used one to dial out from the DS7000 system.

I purchased the GSM dialer from Alarmsellout a month ago, connected it to my ademco alarm, and it works great!  I don't see why it wouldn't work on your other alarm.  I tried Secbo's GSM dialer originally and don't recommend it.  Although their outer appearance looks the same, Alarmsellout's dialer supports more frequencies and more importantly, it has a built-in backup battery.  The secbo dialer didn't come with a backup battery at all which means if the power goes out, my alarm can't even dial out.  I highly recommend paying a little more for the better product.
