F-Connector Mod for the CM15A
« on: October 12, 2009, 12:44:21 PM »

Does anyone have the downloaded information or a new link to these instructions?

This link that is all over the forum is broken:
http://www.accessx10.com/howto_fconnector_page3.html

Thanks,

I was hoping that someone may have downloaded the information about the F-connector and could re-post somewhere.

Thanks.

BaBaLou.

Don't get me wrong. The pictures are great. I guess what I'm looking for is the verbiage that goes along with the pictures, perhaps the parts list, issues to look out for etc,  and if someone knows which of the numerous antenee configurations work best a recommended antenee hookup would be great; I realize that might be outside the F-connector link, but would like that information anyway.

I have just acquired the X-10 Hardware and software in the last couple of months. Overall pretty cool stuff. My primary issue at the moment is obviously range. Got another small issue that "software tech support" said they would get back to me on... that has been over a month now.

Thanks.

Somebody probably has the files downloaded, but with out permission from the owner, can not post it legally. It was Copyrighted.

On the antenna question. Some have used the replacement antenna for the WGL V572 transceivers.
Also the Coccoontech featured one also is popular.

There's several of us (myself included) that would love to give space to the previous owner, or even a subdomain.

Problem is that his identity is a mystery.

The only solution for some of these projects may be to recreate the mod itself.

I know there are actual "books" (as well as articles) out there with copyrighted directions and images also. I most certainly wouldn't want to tresspass on anyones intellectual propriety. But sharing your own mods and experiences with your own photographs and in your own words can't be wrong (yet).

I believe a few here did know the owner of accessha. I hope they may see this thread and get in touch with him.
I believe when it was announced some members had offered space on their sites to archive the data. Didn't pan out as far as I know.

I did a few Goggle and Bing searches with no good results.  ???

If we were able to recreate the Mod, what about having it put up on X10Wiki,  :'

if that is at all possible. just a thought.

If we were able to recreate the Mod, what about having it put up on X10Wiki

Here... X10 Wiki.. aren't they really the same. Aren't (and I may be wrong) both servers paid for by X10. I don't know the structure of where or how the servers are setup ether. If both are mirrored servers in the same office in a flood, earthquake, tsunami, and volcano prone area... it's only a matter of time till we lose all the data anyway.

But losing the data... doesn't mean we collectively lose our memories. Company's and products will continue to come and go. I have found that even when I recreate a modification (or even a macro) I have done before... I sometimes find a better or easier way to do the same thing.

It is a darn shame that we lost such a valuable resource as accessha. There was a huge amount of solid, useful information there. But these loses will continue to happen. The only thing we can do is dust ourselves off, and recreate the data. Just like here at this forum.. most of the problems/questions/posts are repeats... that a decent search could find an answer for.

What we provide here isn't just data and information... it's sense of community. The knowledge that no one is out here doing all this on their own.

Yuor roght, getting closer.

I was able to access all four pages by clicking around but only a very few of the photos. I think three or so from page two.
