dual phase coupling

I know some issues can arise if you have two repeater/couplers, but one about one repeater/coupler and one passive/coupler?

For example, I have a Signalinc coupler/repeater on the dryer outlet, but there is one phase that is just not getting enough signal, could I also put some sort of coupler on at the breaker panel to help spread the signal?

or should I just get an XTB-IIR and stop wasting my time  ;)

Putting a passive coupler in the same breaker panel would not do much. Depending on if it is a inverting type; it could actually cancel the repeaters signals. Maybe the weaker phase need more noise suppression and signal sucker investigation.

I will have to look at my notes. I think I tested my Smarthome Dryer Repeater with an XTBM with the XTB-IIR turned off.

I may have given you Jeffs Troubleshooting link but; http://jvde.us/x10_troubleshooting.htm.
The portion on repeaters and couplers may give you more data.

Yes, I read all Jeff's stuff, its great! I even bought an XTBM from him. I know I would eventually like an XTB-IIR and a w800usb, but I gotta spread out my purchases, and am looking for a cheap quick fix if possible.

Well others may have different thoughts on using a repeater and passive coupler together.

well you could try it and let us know. But you will get better results with just the repeater coupler in the panel and eliminate the dryer unit.

I was having "issues" such as yours.  I built the XTB-IIR and have it installed at the dryer outlet which is about 20 feet from the breaker box.  I get high signal strength all around the house now.
