Ok, so I have read posts for a few weeks, and tried everything to get this module to work without luck.  I hope the forum can help.  Here is what I have:

3 floor, 2500 square foot house, with (1) 200 amp main panel (with installed XPCR), and (2) 100 amp sub panels.

I currently have something like 8 modules on my system which is controlled by Active Home (successfully installed on my MAC with "Parallels" software, yeah!)

All the modules work fine except one SR227 on the middle level.  Here is what I have tried ...

1) Changing out the SR227 with another (no luck)
2) Moving the hot wire from the breaker that serves this circuit to another breaker on a different phase (no luck)
3) I unplugged all the noise producing crap in the house puters, wall warts, plasma tvs (no luck)
4) I turned off all the breakers in the house except the one that serves the SR227 (no luck)
5) I tried changing the house code to several others (no luck)

Funny thing is, this non-working SR227 is on the same circuit with 2 other SR227's that ARE working fine....

A tested, in another location,  SR227 will not work in this one location? Meaning it is most likely a location problem.

Plug a lamp or appliance module into the lower (unswitched) socket of the SR227 and see if that works.   (You do know that only the upper socket of a SR227 is controlled by X10, right?)

.  Yes, the module works.  Both the upper and lower sockets were live.

Yes, I tested this module in another location and it worked fine

OK, what were the addresses of the 3 SR227s and the physical locations of them?  The fact that the one would not work until it was moved seems to me to be a address conflict.

The (2) that are working are both addressed as G10, the one that is not working is addressed as G12,  I tried G1, G2 and even G10 ... and it would still not work.  The one that is not working is located in a central hallway on the middle floor, the (2) that are working are located in an office at the end of the short hall.  I hope this is what you were asking - d

I'm going to ask one of those "make you nuts" questions. On the non working SR227, did you check the bottom outlet in the SR227 for power?

OK You said in OP you replaced this SR227 with another and the other did not work (I assume the replacement SR227 worked prior to trying in this spot), yet two other SR227 on the same breaker do work, correct?

Seems like it would have to be the SR227's location, like a signal sucker electrically near the G12 SR227.

What are you using to send X10 commands? Do you have a wired controller (maxi or Mini, etc)? or a TM751 and a remote? Plug that into the bottom outlet of the SR227, turn off all remaining breakers and try to control either of the two SR227 (G10) which are on same breaker (that you said did work). If you can not control the other SR227s AND you know the bottom outlet of the non working SR227 is hot, then unplug EVERYTHING on that circuit except the controller and try again. If you still can not control either of the SR227's then sell the house or forget about the SR227 in that location...only kidding, we will get it working.

Take the supposedly non-working SR227 and swap it in to one of the locations that is working and address it the same as the working one you pull out.  Then check if it works as the other one did.  If it works, then you know it's not an issue with the module and that you should look at the wiring and ALL devices that may still be plugged into that circuit. 

Too bad you don't have an XTBM to check the line for received codes and line noise.
