VA11A and Windows 7 Pro or Ultimate 64-bit
« on: March 24, 2010, 01:02:00 PM »

To get a VA11A working with Windows 7 64-bit  pro or ultimate:

The VA11A should show up as an unidentified device in Windows 7.

When XP Mode is up and running, perform the normal x10 install in the XP mode environment.
Then, click the USB tab at the top of the XP mode windows and attach the unidentified USB device, it will probably install as a PC Camera Pro. (Don't forget to also attach the X10 Tranceiver Device ( Firecracker interface) if you need it.

When the PC Camera Pro is installed:
go to device manager and right click the PC Camera Pro (or double-click it)  Select properties and drivers
Click update driver and select USB Composite device.

Let it go through it's work and enable the installation of the VA11A driver and the WDM Audio device, when complete, disable the WDM audio device.

Run Vanguard, register, and you're off and running!!!

The reason you need pro or ultimate is that you can't enable xp mode in W7 Home Premium or lower

My pleasure.  I've gotten enough help from other posts here, glad I got the chance to provide some myself! >!
