home automation woes
« on: November 21, 2010, 05:03:24 PM »

I cannot get my system working.  I just purchased a cm15 computer interface module and 4 lm465 lamp modules.  sometimes they will turn on but then they wont turn off.  and they are not working in some of my outlets.  I am assuming that I prob need to buy more items to get them to work but I really don't want to spend any more money.   If anyone would be interested in purchasing them please email me.  TwiztedNeon@yahoo.com

Sorry to see you go so quickly. Home Automation is really fun, but unfortunately it is NOT "plug-n-play".

Your problems are likely to be electrical noise and phase coupling issues, which is present in 95% of the home systems.  You *may* be able to clear your issues by simply  installing a repeater/coupler. Although not the best, the least expensive is the X10, XPCR which can be had from ebay for a less than 20 bucks.
