my subject line probably says it all.  What do I need to do to make BVC run on Windows 7?  I have got my AHP up and running very well but now I need to install BVC with my universal IRT so I can voice control my infrared devices as well as AHP again.

I believe you might have to re-install the .NET 3.1 framework, and something else I was talking to Bill about in a chat a long time ago. I'll check when I get home and see what it was.

You may end up being the test case on this one.

I don't have Windows 7 and I'm not sure anyone has both it and the USB-UIRT to experiment with.

To coin a phrase; "What's the worst that could happen?" hopefully not to be followed by; "Do you smell smoke?"

I installed BVC today on my Win 7 pro 64 bit PC!
The install went without a hitch even skiped the training and recognition is smooth.
What I can't comment on is whether or not the SDK files are needed. Some users of PCC have reported errors finding x10 interface untill it was installed.

AHP has an SDK package.

mkgriff  don't install the AHP SDK unless you have to!
BVC should let you know it can't find x10 drivers or something if it is needed.

well I think I'm back up and running again, I've got my fingers crossed.  Here's what I did I loaded my version of BVC that I had as a backup after I loaded AHP (all the updated AHP for Windows seven).  AHP would work with no problems so I moved on to BVC.  It would not work and gave me some weird warnings, the first one was it was not seeing any x10 so I downloaded the SDK for windows 7/64 bit and then I was really getting some weird actions. -:)then it came to me that I was not running the most common version of BVC so I downloaded it %and what do you know it came right up and works great.  Of course the only thing I've done it is turn off and on a light but everything seems to be talking to each other.  I'll try the USB IRT tomorrow.  I did a back up and installed it after everything started running together so I'm hoping it retained a lot of my stuff so I won't have to reinstall too many IR commands.  I'll let you all know how it goes.

I'm pretty sure the version of BVC you were running was from before I modified it to run on 64 bit Windows, so getting the latest version was probably the main fix.
