Non Dimming Switch like WS467
« on: January 18, 2011, 03:50:15 PM »

Is there a switch that is like the WS467 but not dimming? I need it to fit behind a normal switch plate. Not like the paddle type.

Not by X10.    Check the Smarthome site, they may have a non-dimming wall switch that can be used by X10/AHP.

There is a Smarthome ToggleLinc Relay module.
It can have an X10 address programmed into it.
It also is a two way device so if you turn it On or Off locally. An X10 On or Off command is also sent back on the power line.
Also will respond to a X10 status request.
Like other relay style modules it does require a Neutral power connection to work.

The toggle actuator is not quite what a fully mechanical one would look like. It points straight out and you flip it down for Off and flip it up for On. When released it recenters.

I looked at the Leviton site and did not see a automated switch with a toggle actuator.

Thanks guys. The togglelinc looks like just what I want/need. However, my switch does not have the neutral wire unfortunately. House is to old to rewire. Plaster walls.

My problem is no one in the house likes the push button on the ws467. They just can't get used to a quick press and wait a half a second. So they hold it and complain the light is dimmed. I might just switch them out with non-dimming switches since we never dimmed those lights before, the feature wouldn't be missed.

Well if you know your way around a soldering iron, rosin core solder, and Radio Shark, here ya go:
