Socket Rocket Problem
« on: January 21, 2011, 10:33:58 PM »

I am not sure I am posting this in the correct forum or not

I have 3 socket rockets install outside my home.  They were working flawlessly until the other day.  When I returned home one evening, I noticed the 2 front lights were not on.  Thinking the bulbs went out, I replaced them.  They still didn't work.  So I replaced the socket rockets.  Same results.  Then I thought that it might be either the switch or the light socket.  I put a bulb in the socket (w/o the socket rocket) and the light worked.  I then tried the original socket rocket in a lamp inside my home.  It worked!  It has me stumped.  Anyone had the same problem?  If so, how was it resolved?  Thanks

When something changes... the normal question is... what [else] changed.

It sounds as if maybe you now have noise on you powerline.. or maybe a signal sucker. So your SocketRockets aren't getting the PLC sent to them. Is there a new device like a big flat screen TV, cell phone or MP3 player charger, rechargeable drill, UPS for the computer, new laptop... something like that?

I have not added anything new in my home, except for an incandescent lamp downstairs in the living room.  I realize this may be off base as a clue, but, could the outside temperature have anything to with the socket rockets not working except inside where it is warm?  Our temperatures here in central Ohio have ranged form -1 to +18 degrees these past few days.  Just a thought.  Thanks for your prompt reply earlier.

In Ohio myself... and my outside SocketRockets work fine... and have in colder temps as well.
