...3.305 is known for not working well with .ahx files from earlier versions.

I really haven't had any issues using my existing AHX files with 3.305.
I DID have to re-define my non-SoftStart modules as "Old Lamp non-SoftStart" modules, but once I did that everything was fine.

I have had numerous controls that would turn on power remotely, but would not turn it off.  That includes wall switches.  I tried to isolate noise, but nothing worked.  I installed XPCR System coupler repeater, and everything works fine.  The XPCR fits in the circuit breaker panel, with a connection to neutral, a red wire to the closest breaker to the main breaker, and the next black lead on the XPCR connected to next circuit breaker powered from a different power leg.  The XPCR can be used for 3-phase power, but most homes have split 240V power, achieving 120V between each leg and neutral, therefore I cut off the other black wire on the XPCR.  My circuit breaker panel had the top 2 (15A) breakers connected to the same leg, and the 3rd breaker connected to a different leg.  This was the best $18.00 I ever spent.  If there is a crossover of signals between different legs and a coupler is not used,  the signal goes all the way out to the power pole transformer and back to send signal to the X10 device.  Attenuation and noise pickup are inevitable, and hence X10 functionality is lost.  If you have a intermittent X10 response to devices both ON and OFF, inclusion of XPCR may be worth a try.

For safety, any hard-wired coupler you use should really be mounted in a separate box (not inside the breaker box), and wired up to a dedicated pair of breakers.

I believe it is also against the electrical code to mount any device like a XPCR inside the electrical panel.
