XP is not see my VA12a
« on: March 06, 2011, 05:42:08 PM »

Okay, I have a problem and I think that my VA12A died. It was working last night and but this morning all my camera were black. I shutdown AHP and restarted it and there was a message stating that I had iwatch but it didnt detect my Video controller or something like that. So I unplugged the VA12a and reinstalled it and it came up as a USB mass storage device. I reload the drivers, restarted the computer and the same thing, XP didnt know what the VA12a was... any ideas?

My thought would be to check under Control Panel, System, Device Manager. Check to see if a USB composite device is listed. (under Universal Serial Bus) If so , delete the device and reboot. Start AHP and see if it will detect and utilize the AHP  driver when it is plugged in. If the device does not work in AHP, it should still get a Windows default driver to install...see if another software will see the device..example the resident Window's Moviemaker video capture function?

Make sure your USB port is a highspeed one.  I had to add a USB 2.0 card with ports to my P4 XP machine in order for the VA12a to be recognized and work.
