SW1200 Not Turning On the Lights
« on: April 06, 2011, 08:26:25 PM »

First I'm a NEWBIE so I'll make stupid mistakes.  I'm muddling through the setup of the alarm system and AHP with ActivePhone, OnAlert and OnAlertMobile plug-in's registered.  I added three door\window sensors, a keyring module and a wall switch.  The door\window sensors work, keyring module and wall switch appear in AHP.  In AHP the wall switch operates correctly BUT it does not operate with the SW1200's keyring "Lamp On" as the console does not have a lights on button.  I have confirmed the settings in the SW1200.  Any and All suggestions are appreciated !!!

UPDATE - OK I'm still a NEWBIE !!!!  I armed the alarm system and opened a door to cause an alarm.  Remarkably the light (that does not work when you press the lights on button) came on and started flashing.  It also called the phone number I programmed through Vonage.  I am SOOOOO confused !!!

To light the light from the console. You input the unit number of the module from the keypad. Then the On button of the keypad.
Like you want to light unit 16. You input the 1 then the 6 so the display shows 16. Then you push the On key on the keypad.

Now if you have the newer KR32A Keyfob. There is a quirk. The Lights On and Lights Off Buttons do the SECOND Light Code.
Example default House Code A, Light Code 1. Using the KR32As lights buttons controls A2.  ???

Brian - I do have the new key fob.  At this time I only have one light connected (E1).  I'm new to X10 and did not understand your explanation of the lights that would be activated by the lights On and Of buttons.

If you are using House Code E and Light Code {Unit Code on Module} 1.
The SC1200 also uses Light Code+1 as it sends two addresses when armed and during an alarm. E1 and E2 in your case.

The KR32A lights On and Off button activate the higher address. As a test set the light module to E2 and then see if the keyfob Lights On and Off work.
With the lights on E2. The console should also flash them with an arm or alarm.

R: B2 - 12:50:54 PM 4/8/2011
R: BOn - 12:50:54 PM 4/8/2011
R: B1 - 12:50:55 PM 4/8/2011
R: B2 - 12:50:55 PM 4/8/2011
R: BOff - 12:50:55 PM 4/8/2011
Lights On and Off Buttons:
R: B2 - 12:51:03 PM 4/8/2011
R: BOn - 12:51:04 PM 4/8/2011
R: B2 - 12:51:06 PM 4/8/2011

EXCELLENT description - even I can understand what you are explaining !!!
I really wish that they would document this stuff as Newbie's would not have a clue figuring that out.

MANY THANKS !!!!!

I did a test and it is the KR32A sending the second light code on and off.

I registered the Radio Shack {Made by X10} 49-1002 {KR31A} keyfob to my SC1200A console.
It has two sets of light buttons and no separate Panic Buttons.
Set A turns on and off the light code set in the console.
Set B turns on and off the second light code.
Holding both Arm and Disarm on it triggers a panic.

I then registered the KR32A to the Radio Shack 49-1000MC Security Console.
The Lights On and Off buttons of the KR32A again sent the second light code through the RS Console.
