X10 Nstinct remote
« on: May 13, 2011, 12:17:35 PM »

Have X10 modules working lights, fan and curtains in the UK and control them with IR/RF 7243 and an Easyicon 10 RF remote running at 433MHz, all this kit was bought in the UK.
Does anyone know if I ship the Nstinct remote from the states will it work UK and European modules, this remote is a third of the price in the US so could save myself a few quid !

Incidentally am working all the X10 kit with apple mac/iphone 4 and indigo 4 software and works like a dream.

Many thanks, Ray in London

The US X10 RF frequency is 310MHz. So X10 RF signals would not work from the Nstinct. To your transceiver using 433.92MHz.

The users manual indicates the Nstinct can be set to send X10 commands by IR, RF or IR and RF.

Found the manual for the IRRF7243. Maybe it could use the X10 IR commands. As the manual indicates it can use X10 IR codes from an assortment of remotes. Including X10's

The manuals for the Nstinct and other information are here.

Hi Brian
many thanks for the information, have checked the Nstinct manual and of course another problem would be the lack of english tv station logos,I understand there are only a few for the BBC.
So alas will be purchasing a replacement remote here in the UK  despite having to pay over a $100

Thanks again  Ray
