Hi,

Does the new SC1200 have non-volatile memory for sensor codes, phone numbers and phone recording?
That's one thing I didn't like about the old PS561, you lose power and the battery drains down, you have to set up the whole works all over again.

How do RF ranges compare between SC1200 and PS561?

If both the AC supply and the batteries fail, the Console will no longer dial out or sound the
siren. You will NOT lose its telephone numbers, recorded message, or installed sensors and
remotes, but you will need to reset the clock for the correct time of day.

So I guess this answers my question about non-volatile memory.


I read elsewhere on this forum that RF range is not as good for the new model. Any new thoughts on that?

There is a mod described here that I might attempt to increase RF range. Although the 30" whip seems too long for the frequency. I wonder if the author ever posted those pictures he promised?

I took the batteries out of mine.
Cleared the Tamper Message.
Unplugged the wall wart AC supply.
Waited maybe ten minutes.
Had to reset the clock.
Phone numbers, outgoing phone messages and numbers, zones all where still there.

It is too long, but it still improves the SC1200 sensitivity. I would be interested to know if there is a difference in reception sensitivity between the modded antenna fully extended and collapsed to 18 inches. My bet is there won't be a lot.
