I see the potential of linking an Airpad to the CM15A via USB.
True X10 has apps for controlling things via internet with AHP.
However one can't program the CM15A with a app or control it directly. Yet!
X10 programmers are always looking for ideas would this be feasible?

For those that haven't ordered an AirPad:
Would the existence of such an app influence you to purchase an AirPad?

I do already.. I got it today and loaded this program I have. This lets me jump into my PC which is running AHP and it works.

There are lots apps that will interface with your PC and control programs.
A version of AHP for the airpad wouldn't require a PC.

I am planning to add a USB host channel to the Serial I/O shield for my roZettaTM /ZarduinoTM project in order to support the CM15A but have no plans to duplicate AHP. Without a published communications protocol for the CM15A, configuring it would require more work than I want to do (and would require too much memory in my embedded processor).
But it would seem a natural step for X-10 to create a version of AHP for the AirPad.

I use  TEAMVIEWER6 for Android. Configured right you can control your PC and AHP. Go the Teamviewer site... both on Airpad and you PC..its FREE for home use

I think Tuice is counting his watts.  His country estate is run off the grid.  I'm guessing an airpad hooked to a cm15 would draw a lot less current than a PC hooked to one, and way less than an airpad remoting to a PC connected to a cm15.
Remote control is cool,
but automation rules!

Maybe an alternate form of electric generation would be the ticket. But seriously... even "ON-grid" users like myself are interested in consuming less watts.

Well I do count my watts when in the country.
However thats not the reason I'd like to see this as I can use my notebook to upload to the cm15.
It seems natural a X10 tablet would be able to directly talk to a X10 tranciever.

That's what I like too! It doesn't require much of a processor to create some real HA computer smarts. I believe that a tablet could squeak by as just smart/fast enough. PLUS.... at the same time we might be able to acquire a "touchscreen". The benefits of of only using milliamps of electric is more than just frosting on the cake.

X10 could make this so it only worked on the AirPad.
Although I wouldn't like that, it may increase AirPad sales
;)

X10 could make and market an Android AHP app. Then maybe pre-load (or include a download code) with the AirPad. That could add extra value to the AirPad.... as well as add a possible.... completely new revenue source. Plus this could be made to add a touchscreen to an X10 setup.... at a price point MUCH lower than ever before.

It is a very good idea. But XL needs lots of upgrading first. Like even with ics 4.03, the screen stops responding for a while. To take full advantage of the touch screen, one should be able to split the screen. e.g for AHP and AirSight or PcC and others. Then except for the power, there should be no need for cabling not even to CM15A. May be CM15A should be included in the system and for PLC, power plug should have duel function.

Till this happens, I am happy using X10 Commander and TinyCam Monitor on AirPad XL.
