I agree, the airpad is perfect for a wifi only tablet.
Is anyone out there that can answer?

If you want this question answered  which you posted earlier

QuoteIs the 7" AirPad OS upgradable to Android 2.3.4? If so, how is that accomplished?

then my quess is not likely.  Read some of the post on root, rooting , no root etc.  I do not know if the hardware in the AP7" will even support that operating system.

You can not install Windows 7 64 bit OS on a 386 computer with 256 K of memory.

FYI   Most here on the X-10 Air Pad forum areas know very little about the  Android Operating system.

If you want an opinion on the quote from your last post

QuoteI agree, the airpad is perfect for a wifi only tablet.

then I agree it is a very useful pad for WiFi use.

Would it run 2.3.4? Probably. Your challenge there would be to find an Airpad ROM with 2.3.4, though. Supposedly X10 anticipates to release a version of Anrdoid 4.0 in the coming months, so I'm sure they'll skip 2.3.4 entirely. If you really want 2.3.4, your only bet is probably an unofficial release from the development community â€" and I wouldn't hold my breathe since most of them probably have their sights set on other projects.

The Airpad comes with 2.3.1, which is virtually identical to 2.3.4. The main difference is that 2.3.4 has better support for video chat. However, even with 2.3.4, there's questions about whether the Airpad's camera would still work with most video chat software.

I've been told just recently by a developer and the x10 tech support that 2.3.1 is upgradeable to 2.3.4; however, the questions as to how and the video chat go unanswered.
