I installed a WS467 wall switch today and am having issues controlling it. I have a MC10A mini controller that works fine with my AM466 appliance module, but the wall switch will not respond to the mini controller.

I am also running X10 Commander with the CM17A firecracker and a WTM75 transceiver. I can turn the wall switch on and off fine with the firecracker. But I can't dim or brighten the lights but I can set the dim level manually at the switch. What's confusing is that I can set X10Commander to transmit the signal on the power line or via RF and the wall switch responds either way.
 


The wall switch controls the light fixture on my ceiling fan which is wired separately from the ceiling fan motor.

If you connect the MC10A to the same outlet the WTM75 is in. Can you then control the WS467?
You could have power line problems to the WS467 from where the MC10A is normally connected.

It sounds like your WS467 is a SoftStart one (since you can dim it locally).
Make sure that when you are turning it off, you aren't just dimming it down to 0.
It has the "resume dim" feature, so when sent on "on" command (from the MC10A), it will come on at the last brightness level. If that was 0%, then it will appear to be off.

Yes it has the new soft start switch.

I found that if I unplug the WTM75 transceiver the mini controller and WS467 work perfectly fine. I plugged the transformer in to an outlet in another room and it still interferes.

What can be done to prevent this interference?

It sounds like the WTM75 is bad. You might need to replace it.

I took the WTM75 apart hoping to see something wrong but I didn't. After putting it back together and plugging it in, everything works.

That happens to me a lot. When you open it up, the troublesome "gremlin" inside falls out, and can't cause any more trouble.

It is on the fritz again this morning. I am going to try to get a warranty replacement for it.

X10 is more temperamental than I expected, but when compared to the price of other technologies, I can't complain too much. Besides, I am a tinkerer.

When the gremlin gets warm, he start sweating, and that can short out some of the internals.

Sorry for posting to such an old thread but I stumbled upon it and thought I should explain this in case no one ever did so here.

The super-regenerative receivers in TM751s (actually, nearly all supre-regens) are easily triggered by inductive coupling to the 120kHz on the powerline. It can usually be cured by reorienting the antenna.
