Change antenna on VR46A???

I have 4 cameras and a VR46A receiver.  The range is horrible so I figured it has to be possible to remove the stock antenna and replace with something better......even a regular linksys antenna from a wireless router since they are both 2.4ghz.  I made a new antenna for my CM15A and increased the range on that thing by about 100 yards, so their has to be a way to do it on this right?  Anyone have any advise or links to drawings for people who have done it before?
