Replacement for the CM15A - part II
« on: February 29, 2012, 07:54:39 PM »

Be careful! Or X10 Repair Depot will deem this thread has outlived it's usefulness and close it. I'm still waiting for an answer about the CM15A when the Depot closed the thread.

This thread has outlived its usefulness.
So your idea of helping is to just lock the topic so no further posts can be made???  :(

Like Jeff said, if you really want to be helpful, get someone to give you an official X10 "statement of direction" regarding the CM15A and other x10 protocol products and let you post that!

Thanks for resurecting the thread. Now if someone in the know at X10 would just leak some information about the CM15A and AHP. Excepting the RF receive range, it is a great product. X10 PLC control is not dead yet, but if the CM15A dies, IMHO it will be another coffin nail for home automation through PLC control.  FWIW

Outside of the first few posts, the thread that I locked was full of wild speculation that served no useful purpose, much of it was incorrect.

I will be posting information about our direction shortly, but for now, X10 will be continuing to produce and sell home automation products that use the X10 protocol.

Without useful and credible releases of real information... rumor and speculation is what you're stuck with.

Come on... get real here Mr X10 Repair Depot. Many of the people here at the forum are some oldest and most loyal of the X10 fan base. Implications that our interest... should be shutdown.. might be a mistake. We are on the same side.

The days of secrecy being good for the kids is gone.
It has been X10's policy not to comment openly on its direction for some time. ::) :'
This needs to change, no one wants to be treated like a mushroom.

The fact that users get better x10 input on a social network is sad.
Even there it is hard to get a direct answer. B:( Maybe they're all wannabe politicans that answer there! rofl

In all fairness, X10 Repair Depot must tow the line if he wishes to keep his job. :(

I'll be very surprised to see some positive info unless X10 upper management change their tune. ::) :'

The fact is X10 can't distribute a CM15K (an inferior product) as a replacement for the CM15A to anyone other then newbies.

X10 Repair Depot,

Now THAT is what I call helpful!!  #:)

Thank you!

ITguy

P.S.  Please tell management to keep it up!  I think there were many of us preparing to "jump ship" from X10 just because there was total silence regarding your desired/intended direction.  The sort of open and honest communication contained in your post will do much to keep us around!!

Unfortunately many did jump ship!
X10 dragging their feet  and keeping us in the dark was the cause!
Hopefuly this is a sign of a new begining!
