Need help accessing and setting up an Airsight wireless camera
« on: December 27, 2013, 03:11:41 PM »

I was very happy with my Airsight ip camera I installed in my cabin until the company went belly up.  I created an account on no-ip and thats as far as I've come.  Is there a step by step process on this sight that will tell me where to go from here?  I'm assuming I need to download another app or site to view the camera.  Any suggestions?  Do I create a host name and then use that? Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you.

If No-ip is setup in your router you merely need to type the no-ip  address into EI and the port of your Airsight
If your no-ip address is someplace.no-ip.biz and your Airsight port is 8081 you would type in http://someplace.no-ip.biz:8081

Some routers don't have the ability to use a DDNS or are limited to those they can use.
You will need to do some extra configuring to keep no-ip active.
You might find this post helpful if that is the case:

Thanks much for your reply.  What did you mean by "If No-ip is setup in your router you merely need to type the no-ip  address into EI and the port of your Airsight"
I added my 2 cameras ip and port to single port forwarding to my Linksys router.  I created a host on the noip site.  Now I'm stuck.  How do I setup no-ip on my router?
Enable DDNS and type in my host name?

Thanks again and Happy New Year.

Since all router / modems vary in their setup screens you would be best to contact support for yours. ;)

I get many PMs and emails on this subject with the x10 servers down.
The new owners have stated they intend to bring back the Air Sights with a new design.
When the DNNS server comes back online I don't known if the old cameras will work with it. ::) :'
Since I don't own an old Air Sight I can't offer any other tips then posted above.

However there may be other possible work arounds available.
If an Air sight can be setup to send an e-mail on powering up reporting the IP one could use that info to connect.
With some programming one could create an app to read that email and create a link which would be updated with each new email. ;)
