I couldn't make the video recording work reliability on XP. I found happiness with a cheapie security DVR device.... and I am still running one 8 year old X10 NightWatch camera.

tnx DAve.  Me too, but just thought I would ask.  So now I have a half dozen x10 cameras up, the mid (not HD) wired 6 to vcr thing, and now playing with 4 HD IP ones to computr software...  It is starting to look like more cameras than around the white house!  but still would be nice to have those ol x10'ers working,  if nothing else it would be a good excuse to not have to around and take them down.

simplevideo.exe seems to show video in brief test, but it is garbled like multiple cameras on and quick try to shut all off and only 1 on did not clear it up.  yet ahp shows black not seeming to even see that.

If you run a Home Automation computer.... a video input card (made for cameras) is a good way to go. There are also a USB multiple input device similar to X10 input device. But... that's old technology now... and I don't know where you might find it. But searching amazon could help (search easycap).
