IOS App for legacy Airsight IP Cameras
« on: February 07, 2015, 01:14:53 PM »

I downloaded the App and tried to load one of four cameras and can't get a picture. I don't see any instructions and the information asked for when you add the camera seems inadequate to gain a connection.

I noticed that the device info shows UID nonP2P, is that the problem?  The cameras are wireless.

Any advice or help would be appreciated.  Thanks

There are a couple of versions of X10 Airsight apps be sure your using the right one.
However I was never fond of the apps for the Airsights and preferred a universal IP camera app.
Although I do have an Airsight app on my phone I use the free "IP Cam Viewer Basic" app

Thanks Tuicemen. In the meantime, I figured it out and got one camera working.  I'll try the rest just for fun.

Hmmmmmm.  Not so fast.  The camera that was working no longer shows a picture. Unable to add other cameras though the app "sees them".  Will do some more fiddling and report any success if I figure it out.

So...all cameras are showing up on the app. I would advise that if you are adding non P2P cameras, don't use the search button.  Simply add cameras one at a time with the "add" button. After you have filled in the configuration and hit save and attempt to add anther device, the device info you just added will pop up again.  This leads you to believe that if you clear the fields and put in other information, that you would be losing your previously entered information.   Not so. Just go ahead and clear the first cameras info and enter the next camera and save. Do this until you have entered all your cameras. Each camera name will appear on the viewer. Just tap the frame for each camera and your picture will appear.

The IOS legacy app has been working fine on my LAN but while traveling and using someone else's wireless network, the cameras initialize okay, but then time out without gaining the video.  Any ideas?

The  new Airsight cameras on the IOS App for them work fine, just not the legacy cameras.

Are your cameras wired or running wireless?
I find even some of my none X10 Wi-Fi cameras have connection issues.
Playing with my Wi-Fi router's placement I was able to find a sweet spot which allowed for almost all my cameras to stay connected.
I still have one easy cam that is stubborn.
if the software doesn't display the video try connecting with your browser.
If that fails as well it is a issue with your router or camera.
In any case I'd try some of the other Wi-Fi camera software available as the older X10 cameras seemed to work better with other software.

Many routers have built-in power settings. Most people use the standard medium or low setting so as not to create conflicts with neighbors. You may want to check if your router has a power setting. Many modern routers have unbelievable range.

My router is a maximum power I just have one location that is a problem spot.
This spot may be helped with an antenna mod to the camera, which I plan to experiment with later as well as an external antenna add.

Sorry to take so long to get back to you guys.  Problem solved.  I was using the camera IP when I should have been using the external IP.   B:(

Thanks...now,if only the app developer would add some additional functionality, that would be fantastic.
