New/Replacement CM15A Only Works When Plugged Into the PC

The subject says it all. My old (11/2013) CM15A controller/interface died. Before death it worked like it was supposed to. I'd prepare an AHP program (strictly for lighting/no macros), download the program, unplug the USB cord from the CM15A, turn off the PC and walk away. I got a replacement CM15A controller last week and it works -- but only when plugged into the PC and the PC is on. Any thoughts other than/including the new unit is defective? (I downloaded a working program into the interface, and the "store in interface" box was checked for each action. Still, the controller -- which worked when USB-plugged into the PC -- did nothing once unplugged).

Noam

Did you try clearing the memory (there is a command in AHP to do this), and re-downloading?
Did you try fresh batteries?
Did you try resetting the unit (unplug it from the wall and the USB, remove the batteries, wait 10 minutes, put it all back together)?
