Anyone else get a firmware upgrade straight out of the box?

the upgrade firmware was to fix a reconnect bug if your device went to sleep while connected to the hub.
when you woke up your phone you use to have to exit the app then restart it to reconnect to the HUB. this was needed for the new app update to work.

I had asked that Firmware updates come with a small description as to what they did but I see that hasn't been done (yet)
I was experiencing the disconnect when phone went to sleep as was an Authinx employee this is how I know what it was for.
It did solve that issue. The app reports hub off line but quickly reconnects now.

You know (Tuicemen)..... programmers always get the bug reports and change requests.

But the team working on this app/device setup really did some good work for the roll-out. In every aspect it looks very nice.  #:)   :)%   >!

I know you've put in a lot of your own effort and time too Tuicemen  #:)   :)%   >!

Thanks Dave, Your satisfaction and praise really means a lot.
I took on this for the X10 users, though I really wanted something like this for my self as well :-[
I hope everyone else is as impressed!

There are some aspects of this I'm a bit disappointed with but everyone has been waiting so long for this to happen the Owner and Myself thought we needed to get this out and work on options later.
Some things would have ment going back to the manufacture for another hardware build which is very time consuming.
I would have loved the pass threw which was in my first two test units the last test unit only had the plug opening (no hardware)which I didn't check till last night :-[ B:(

I hope everyone else is as impressed!

Impressed is the correct term!

As a stand-alone unit, with the app on a phone or tablet. This may very well be the best X10 remote ever. And for most of us... our phones are always with us ... or at least never left in a drawer.

As an interface. This is far simpler and easier to understand and create timers and simple macro-like (non- triggered) actions than most other such things. For the VAST majority of users... and for most of all users actions/applications... this does the trick.

For voice (Alexa, google, Cortana, whatever) control.... this app with (an accompanying skill) is/will be beautiful.

There are some aspects of this I'm a bit disappointed with but everyone has been waiting so long for this to happen the Owner and Myself thought we needed to get this out and work on options later.

Perfect be the enemy of the good. I am confident that half the stuff we'll want to do with home automation in 20 years.... hasn't even been thought of yet. There will always be updates and upgrades. This is a fine device.... TODAY. But NO device will ever be perfect.

I must say Authinx's commitment to a bug free App and Hardware really shines with this unit.
They even fixed issues that only I was seeing. :)%
The only one still bothering me is the history events pull, but at least my phone doesn't crash with the failure now.
And that may be still related to my Galaxy S8+ and not the app.

Given the pile of crap they inherited, they probably wanted to avoid sinking further into the shadows of the original X10 reputation. I think they are wise to try to develop a reputation for quality.
