XPFM Inline Receiver Module (2018 review)
« on: February 15, 2018, 05:00:13 AM »

I actually picked up a couple of these in 2017 but never got around to installing one till last week.
I wanted this for my outdoor wood boiler at my off grid place so I could turn it on from my city residents prior to heading there.
I wired it in and had planed to use the WM100 to control it.
I knew RF wouldn't work as the module had to be in the steel encloser and I had already unsuccessfuly tested a Wi-Fi (sonoff module).
With the module all wired up and the encloser put back together I tested using my Phones wi-fi but was expecting I'd have to move closer to the router as my phone sometimes wasn't connecting from that distance.
I listened for the module relay clicking sound but heard nothing B:(
figuring I had wired something wrong I started to go back to open the control panel. That's when I notice the furnace power was on :o
I press the off button in the wm100 app and the power went of with barely a noise. the module is just laying flat on the metal enclosure so you'd expect it to be far nosier then it is.
I was expecting these to still have the noisy relays and am very impressed that it is so silent.
