Sonoff modules
« on: February 21, 2018, 06:21:23 AM »

Where are people aourcing their Sonoff modules.  I've looked around and see direct from sonoff, ebay, banggood, etc.  Anyone want to comment on best vendor in their opinion.  Shipping time, price, and seller reliability are prime considerations.

I haven't compared prices but I've been happy dealing with iTead. They use PayPal. I notice the Sonoff store uses AliExpress. Twice, dealing with separate vendors, I've been ripped off over AliExpress. One vendor sent me obsolete junk totally unrelated to my order. The other supplied a tracking number that was for a package delivered some 2,000 miles from my address.

I've decided that they had both realized that no humanoid has ever successfully navigated the AliExpress Complaint/Refund procedure and realized they could get away with it.

I too had good luck ordering direct from itead but you can't be in a rush for it.

I checked earlier today and saw that there was shipping of around $5.  I ordered from ebay 5 minutes ago before checking there again.  Now there's a sale of 10% off + free shipping so it's actually cheaper to order direct from Itead right now.  Meh, no biggie ($8.60 vs $9.09 and both from China).

I bought a Sonoff 4CH Pro 4-gang Wifi Switch on Amazon and they have a lot of other Sonoff products as well.  Fast, free shipping and easy returns.  I use the 4CH Pro to provide Alexa control of some motorized sliding doors.  Extremely easy to set up and it's been completely reliable.

I bought a few items from iTead when they were the only source.

I just looked at Amazon and it appears they now list all of the Sonoff gear. While the Amazon prices are higher, the quick delivery and no-hassle return/refund policy makes them the preferred choice unless you're buying in very large quantities.
