I know I'm a little late to the discussion, but it looks like a "standard" X10 camera setup, but they added an RF receiver into the power supply, to eliminate the need for a TM751 (or rr501) to do that.

A transformer, a few caps. Possibly the power side and one half of an old door chime unit. It's definitely missing something else to make up a complete unit.

I have similar thoughts.
Camera supply and a transceiver in the same case.
As the eBay kit I found. Didn't seem to have a separate transceiver in it.
