Device will not work on timers after update
« on: August 12, 2018, 02:27:16 PM »

One of my Device’s would not work on timers after updating. I added new timers to that device and they also would not show up in the history data so I know it not just poor communication. It would turn on and off from app manually but neither timers or D/D worked.  I deleted the device completely and then re-added it and that fixed it, now it’s working.

A fairly simple fix and maybe obvious but I hope that this helps someone else.

Tucson,
Looks like you’re keeping track of actual times. Is the timer executing based on dusk or sunset?

X10 support just confirmed that the times are indeed S/S ( but we knew that!).

I suggested that they change the nomenclature in the app.  It’s misleading and confusing.

Since you are close to me, I'm curious on what time the unit is considering dusk this time of year?

Note that it’s not dusk,it’s sunset (or sunrise). If you want dusk (or dawn), you need to use the offsets.

Today it thinks sunset in AZ  is at 8:10 pm which is one hour late.

It worked for me.

Ceedee, Thank You very much for for trying out the D/D setting. Just want to make sure you tried turning on at dust -90. I have tried several devices at -90 and they all fail to send anything but when I set -60 they all work.

I may have a bad unit but this seem more like firmware. Note I would not need -90 if they had not broke AZ d/d. Also I wish they would have allowed 5  minute resolution.

I have a bogus device set right at dusk at it recorded an on signal at 8:14 pm, so it looks like sunset plus one hour.  -75 and -90 are not responding, but -60 is, so looks like we are in need of a firmware update?

Given multiple reported failures, I’m thinking that my info is bad. I looked at the log, but it had been overwritten.  Let me try again tonight.

As promised...

The light on L4 turned on at 6:16 EDT, which is just about 90 minutes before sunset.
