BT Sound Notifications
« on: December 02, 2018, 10:53:15 AM »

Since the Zero W has no sound outputs other then when using the HDMI, I've added a "Sounds" folder to the X10Hub folder with a sample wav file.
I've put  together a text file to outline how to enable a BT speaker which I also included in the Sounds folder.
This should work for any BT speaker even Alexa or Google Home speakers.
HA-Bridge will send the sound to the BT speaker or activate any command line program or script.
I've not attempted to send directly with HG as yet. I'm not sure if it can trigger command line events directly. Perhaps one of the users more familiar with HG could comment on that.

I'm wondering if anyone else has played with this or may in the future?
I've got my Amazon Dot connected to my PC mic input and have started to play with creating Wav files for notifications.
In the image I've included some Alexa samples .
Attached is a test sample just rename from txt to wav.
This was done using the Simon says feature but I think you can get a better more natural sounding notification using the routines as you can add a pause I believe. ::) :'

Since setting up a BT speaker is different for every BT device it isn't possible to add this already setup in the PiX10Hub. :-[
For that reason many of you will not dive into this as it requires going down the Linux road of entering code and is not the same as just answering y or n to a prompt.
For those that do wish to attempt this you can post your questions here and I'll attempt to answer them.
