What the heck...
« on: December 27, 2018, 08:14:29 AM »

Well it seems that the older X10 CM15A has got the new X10 Wifi module beat in one respect.  It can actually turn a light on at a given percentage level.  I've tried with no success to have our master bathroom light turn on at 50% which has not worked since I got the new X10 Wifi module but, I had no problem doing this same thing (except at 31%) with the older CM15A.  The X10 Wifi module turns the light on but, the light barely glows once it's on.  It doesn't matter what level I select 12/24, 23/24 the end result was always the same.  So for grins I programmed the command address, P6 in this case, as a new device in the X10 Wifi module.  In the CM15A this turned on the bathroom light to 31%.  IT WORKED!  The bathroom light came on this morning at the correct level.   :)%  So now I've learned if I want to turn on a light at a certain level I have to give that job to the old CM15A. The end result I'm finding out is that the X10 Wifi module should have been made into a simple wifi translator to receive wifi commands and convert and send them on to the CM15A.

Despite all the promise the WM100 was to have it has failed miserably at living up to it's potential.
The PiX10Hub which the X10 Community has released far exceeds the WM100 Wi-Fi module and if you have an existing X10 interface the cost is extremely less.
I don't expect the WM100 apps to progress much beyond what they're capable of doing now. The Current Developer realy has no clue as to how to implement things most of us end users expect of the WM100.
The software in the PiX10Hub on the other hand is open source and is constantly improving.

The PiX10HUB is not their product.
It was developed by many talented users here.

It has a whole section here on what it does and how it can be assembled by the users here.
