I need help to get started- Homegenie and X10

Yes, I realize that, but I cannot even get HA Bridge to effect keyboard commands yet.

I tried it just for fun, but she did not find anything.

No, I cannot control from HA Bridge. While I was messing with the configuration, I was getting command responses on the screen, but no X10 results. I tweaked something and now I get error messages.

If you can't  control from the bridge the devices were most likely added incorrectly. Did you try a bridge reinitialization after you added the HomeGenie devices?

I did try that but no change. Do you have any different screen shots of the configuration pages that I can use as examples? I am likely missing some small detail.

Did you install HA-Bridge manually  or are you running it from the PiX10Hub installer?
Did the bridge pickup all HG devices or are you adding manualy?

I used your installer. It picked up the default ones, but not mine. So I was converting the default ones to X10 devices.

Ok thats the problem.
The bridge has to see your devices and they must be named.
Are they Lights Dimmers or Switches?

No, I have to take that back. My devices are showing up. I had to change the names to make them stand out.

For my understanding, I just want a couple of lights to go on/off. Does it matter whether we call them lights, dimmers or switches?
Some are switches with dimmers, some are just lights plugged into appliance modules.

However the Bridge seems to be seeing all your devices. and I see you have at least one device already configured.
if you have more did you add(configure) as a bulk or add 1 at a time?

I did them one at a time.

In the HG configuration line scroll across to  the Other Types (opt) field in it type Switch then click update.
go back to the top and click save.
