Integrating a Wireless tag with an X10 device
« on: February 15, 2024, 06:53:34 PM »

I have long been a fan of Wireless tag devices..temperature devices mostly (but not exclusively). My 2nd posting will be a simple example of using a wireless tag to control a plug in heater to provide heat in an under house crawl space through Eisy, with an accompanying Alexa notification.

I would appreciate knowing if these are useful to others, or just another "so what" response producing exercise.

Thanks for any suggestions or feedback.

Below is an attachment which shows the linking of a wireless temperature "tag" with an X-10 Appliance module being the boots on the ground execution device.

Keep 'em coming! Interesting ideas and the EISY is probably the only sophisticated controller being produced and supported now.

I've did a similar thing with HomeGenie to control a Zwave and Wemo device from a palm pad. As well I've used old x10 camera remotes to do simular things .
I can't remember the last time I used a x10 remote though since integrating Alexa and Google Home into my setup.
This got me thinking it might be time to find them and check the batteries. ::) :'

My wife, who is more often than not skeptical of my HA adventures, rather liked the idea of the palmpad.. For those times speaking to Alexa might disturb the quiet (sleeping spouse), or out of range from Alexa....like arriving home after dark.
