Macro solution - pauses - it is working for me
« on: February 05, 2005, 05:27:41 PM »

Thanks to all those who are constructively
posting their problems and fixes. I'd like
to contribute a fix that seems to be
working for me...pauses in macros.

I have a macro that adjusts the whole house
just the way I like it. It's called 'normal
eve' and works with lights only, a lot of
them. I've discovered that if I insert a
two second pause between each of the macro
components that it stabilizes the running
of the macro. Interestingly...this morning
I experimented and changed the pause to one
second...the problems returned...when I
went back to two seconds it ran correctly.
Inserting the pauses is a simple matter of
dragging a pause icon over to your macro
component list and the adjusting the time.

This little experiment has not made AHP
perfect...but it helped.

Remember, as in all situations like
this...your mileage may vary.

That was  great Idea !  Now that everything
seems to be working pretty well, I can
shorten my delays to 2 to 4 seconds... Great
thinking...
